Happy Thanksgiving

From the farm!

We have a house full of family, and even more full of food. Seriously, I don’t think this house has ever contained so much food at one time. Perhaps I should invite the whole community over – they could fill up on leftovers alone… and we haven’t even gotten to Thanksgiving yet!

2010 Thanksgiving Menu

Turkey
Stuffing
Sweet Potato (homegrown!) casserole
Gourmet Potatoes (my specialty)
Green Bean Casserole
Maple-Dijon Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Corn Casserole
Jello Salad
Sister Schubert’s Dinner Rolls

The house is also full of the seasonal scent of an eight-foot fraser fir. I know, I know, I’m always the person who adamantly refuses to partake in Christmas festivities before the completion of Thanksgiving….

BUT… we found a deal at the local Food Lion, likely better than any Black Friday deal. $29.99 Fraser Firs, any size you want (many were well over 10 feet!). And so, we loaded one up (during our daily grocery trip) and brought it home.

I’ll be back later to share pictures of the decorated tree, as well as the Thanksgiving-meal-Pyrex-display. The family is quite impressed with my collection! For now, it’s time to change out of my cupcake PJs and watch the  Macy’s parade :)
